Audience feedback:
‘Thanks for the incredibly inspiring , brutally honest and awesome talk at Chesters on Saturday night. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us and not romanticising it but telling us exactly how it was.’
A few testimonials:
“Markus was our special guest speaker on three occasions on our successful Kendal Mountain UK Tour 2018. Both our team and the ticket buying audience left the event both hugely impressed and inspired by his achievements. He delivers his adventurous stories in a professional, engaging, approachable and often light-hearted way which prompted a great response with queues of questions after the session.”
Steve Scott – UK Live Tour presenter & director of Kendal Mountain Festival
‘Markus was a very popular speaker at our recent Scottish EDGE Alumni Event. He told the remarkable story of his round the world trip on a single gear bike with wit, charm and honesty all illustrated with his beautiful photographs. Markus was able to relate his challenges on the journey to the difficulties the businesses face and completely engaged with his audience.’
Evelyn McDonald, CEO, Scottish EDGE
‘We were delighted to have Markus headline the final session at our 2017 festival. He was warm, engaging and fun, with an infectious enthusiasm that had the audience charmed from beginning to end. Watch out for this guy … he’ll be tearing up the adventure film festival circuit for many years to come!’
Rich Rowe, Peebles Outdoor Film Festival
‘Markus has a unique approach to storytelling that’s both authentic and refreshing. His ‘round the world cycle’ was a feat in itself and inspiring all on its own, but the way Markus described it made us want to go and do something adventurous ourselves! Markus really was a pleasure to work with. He kept attendees well-engaged, and his warm sense of humour and humble demeanour made him an accessible panel member for the live Q&A following the session.’
Andrew Dobbie, Director, MadeBrave
‘It was an absolute pleasure to host Markus’s talk about his round the world ride on his single speed bike. His presentation included loads of fantastic photos and videos and his passion for traveling, experiencing different cultures and meeting people was inspiring. Listening to Markus talk about his trip is a truly inspiring experience: we can’t wait to spend some more time with him to pick his brains and plan our own mini bikepacking adventures! I would strongly recommend booking Markus to talk about his trip if you have any interest in travelling and adventure!’
Phil Wade, The Green Jersey
‘I was privileged to be in the audience when Markus gave a talk at Edinburgh University a few months ago. Markus is an inspirational, talented and charismatic speaker who is able to captivate listeners with his incredible story. He has achieved something truly magnificent and life enriching – completing a journey that most of us only dream about. Markus is able to share an true and thought provoking account of his experience, highlighting learning points and personal discoveries which are relevant to a variety of audiences.’
Paul Wright, Behaviour Change Manager, Cycling Scotland
‘Markus hat seine Sache fein gemacht, auch wenn ihm seine Heimatsprache mittlerweile mehr fordert als Englisch. Viele tolle Bilder, mächtig Fernweh und mancher Wortwitz sorgten für kurzweilige zwei Stunden. Sein bester Satz im Vortrag: „Ich habe ein Jahr Geld für Erfahrungen ausgegeben und nicht für Dinge.’
Gunnar Fehlau, Autor und Geschäftsführer des pressedienst-fahrrad
[…] He’s spent the past year devising more bikepacking trips although on a different scale in Scotland and there are full details of the routes he’s created on his website. He also has a book in the pipeline so watch out for that at some point in the future. Details of Markus’ future speaking events can be found here. […]
