Home for Christmas

Home for Christmas

3 days, 14 hours, 710 km. My fourth ride home for Christmas is history, this time with gears on a Surly Straggler. I thoroughly enjoyed the long distance grinding again, with added spice thrown in on the last two days, where I stuck to gravel wherever I could. Instead of long words here, I leave you the short quote below to think about, the video and a link to the Yellow Jersey Blog, where I have left a few more thoughts on the trip.

‘Your destiny is to find the courage to flesh out the great dreams. To dare to love, to dare to care, to dare to be significant and to admit it. Not by the things you own, or the positions you hold, but by the life you live.’ (Maya Angelou)

And don’t forget to tune in tonight (28 Dec) at 7pm to the ‘Roads Less Travelled’ on BBC 2 Scotland, where I’ll be talking to Cameron McNeish about cycling the world and Bikepacking Scotland, and we even get to cycle a bit! Here’s the link.

Thanks for the support in 2017. Here’s to more inspiration in 2018!
